Custom web portal development for partners, dealers and B2B customers

Give dealers, distributors and trade customers one place to configure products, place orders, follow production and delivery, and resolve problems. We build portals around the way your partners actually work with you.

Web portal development around the order, not the login page

A partner portal earns its place when partners stop emailing and calling for things they could see themselves: a price, a document, the status of an order, the answer to a common question. We design each portal around those daily tasks for each type of partner, then add the roles, permissions and integrations that make the information reliable.

Our VIPAR Heavy Duty portal is an example: suppliers, distributors and administrators each work in their own view, with catalog search, pricing and availability, supplier program reports, a knowledge base and support tickets.

Configurators and order processing for made-to-order products

When products are built to order, the portal has to capture exactly what the partner wants. A configurator walks through the options, blocks combinations that cannot be produced and prices each configuration. The result becomes a quote or an order with a complete specification.

Order processing then follows your rules: credit checks, approvals, deposits and changes after the order is placed. Each order keeps its history, so sales, production and the partner see the same version.

Factory coordination for orders built in several places

Many manufacturers produce in more than one plant or rely on contract factories. The portal routes each order or order line to the right factory, shares the specification and collects confirmations, dates and production status. Delays surface early, and your team can see which orders are waiting on whom.

Returns, rejections and claims

Damaged, incorrect or rejected goods are part of B2B trade. Partners open a case against the order line with photos and a reason, your team decides on credit, replacement or repair, and the case keeps a status and an owner until it is closed. Patterns in returns become visible instead of being buried in email.

Logistics software development for delivery tracking

Shipments that cross borders or pass through several carriers need one view. The portal records each shipment against its orders, shows milestones from dispatch to delivery and alerts both sides when something is late. For a wine and spirits distributor we built a driver app that records deliveries at each stop, including barcode checks, returns and cash collection; see the distributor case.

Ecommerce portal development and B2B ordering

For partners who reorder standard products, the portal works like a private store with their own catalog, prices and terms. See custom e-commerce and B2B ordering for storefronts and trade ordering, and integrations for connecting the portal to your ERP and product data.

Built around the people who use it

Manufacturers selling through partners

Companies whose dealers, installers or distributors order configured products and need prices, status and documents without calling the sales team.

Distribution and supply networks

Networks where suppliers, distributors and administrators each need their own catalogs, prices, reports and support channel.

The parts needed for a working application

Roles and access

Separate views for each type of partner and for your own team, with account-specific catalogs, prices and documents.

Ordering and configuration

Product configurators with compatibility rules, quotes, order drafts and approvals, built for products that are made to order.

Operations behind the order

Order routing to production, factory coordination, returns and rejections, and shipment tracking visible to both sides.

Integrations and support

Connections to ERP, product data and single sign-on, plus a knowledge base and ticket workflow for partner questions.

Portals we have built

VIPAR Heavy Duty

A redesigned public website and private trade portal for a truck parts network. Suppliers, distributors and administrators get role-specific views, with search across supplier catalogs, distributor-specific pricing and availability, supplier program reports, a knowledge base and a ticket workflow.

Wine and spirits distributor

Customer, sales representative and supervisor access on the web, iOS and Android, from ordering and account balances to tasks at retail locations and a driver app for delivery documents, barcode checks, returns and cash collection.

Small milestones and visible progress

Follow one order end to end

Trace a real order from configuration to delivery with your sales, production and logistics teams. Agree which partners and steps the first release covers.

Release to a pilot group

Senior engineers use AI-assisted delivery to target the first working release in 14 days. A group of partners uses it first, and the portal widens as their feedback is handled.

Pricing: Fixed price per milestone, no hourly billing. About a third of a traditional team's quote for the same scope. Hosting and any third-party services are estimated before development.

Questions people ask before starting

What is the difference between a web portal and a website?

A website is public and the same for everyone. A portal is signed-in: each partner sees their own catalog, prices, orders and documents, and can act on them. Most businesses need both, connected to the same product and customer data.

Can a portal handle products that are made to order?

Yes. A configurator checks compatible options and prices each configuration, and the order carries the full specification to production. Changes after the order are tracked, so everyone works from the same version.

Can partners see production and delivery status?

Yes. Status updates from production and shipping appear on the order, including which factory is making it and where the shipment is. Partners stop calling for updates, and your team stops answering the same questions.

How do returns and rejected goods work in a portal?

The partner opens a return or rejection on the order line, adds photos and a reason, and your team decides on a credit, replacement or repair. Every case has a status and an owner until it is closed.

Should we build a portal or extend our e-commerce platform?

If partners buy standard products at list or tiered prices, a platform's B2B features may be enough. Configured products, negotiated terms, production coordination and returns usually call for a custom portal connected to the platform and your ERP.
