The company's problem was interaction with their customers while booking docks. All processes were manual. Customers had to call or email to check the availability and make a reservation. All the data was added and edited manually by managers. The client set out to simplify the searching and booking process and improve customer experience.
Devvela was chosen to develop an advanced solution that would digitize the booking process and boost docks’ occupancy hence increasing company revenue.
With the help of Devvela the client got a modern web and mobile platform for:
- advance booking of docks which calculates needed space depending on vessel size and confirms the availability;
- intuitive and user-friendly search and booking by the customers;
The platform was developed by mobile-first approach so that customers traveling on a boat could easily book a dock from their smartphone.

Downtown Docks got a centralized platform meeting all their customers and managers’ requirements, and bringing transparency into their interaction around searching and booking processes. Using this platform our client managed to eliminate clashes which cause traffic jams, and make sure that everyone is informed about availability, reservation and payment. As a result it is reported to increase their monthly bookings by 42%.
The project is still in progress and continues being developed and new functionality is being added.
